Today I want to talk about the single most important factor in any successful online business … traffic generation.

The principle of highest access to traffic is the same for any business!

In brick and mortar business, what's the one thing that people always talk about? Location, location, location. Right?

When you open a physical storefront, you want to put it at a place where there's going to be the most traffic … such as on the corner of a busy intersection or at the bottom of an interstate ramp.

Online, there obviously is no physical location. But the principle of getting access to the highest amount of traffic remains the same. Traffic is the key to making money online. Period.

No Customers = No Sales

Here's why: Even if you have the greatest, most high-converting products in the world

For example, let's say you have something everybody wants... such as a product that turns a dollar bill into a hundred dollar bill.

Okay, so even if you have this miracle machine that nobody in their right mind would NOT buy, but you don't have any customers, you aren't going to make any sales, right?..

No Product Promotion = No Traffic.

No traffic means no customers, therefore, no sales.

You have this product. It's great. Everybody wants it. But for some reason, you can't get the word out about your product. You're at the corner of Lost and Nowhere. You have no traffic.

No traffic. No sales. No business!

Selling A Crappy Product

Okay, that's an extreme example. Let's look at another extreme example to help you understand the concept even more clearly.

Let's say you have a piece of crap product that practically nobody wants. It's just a lousy product.

This is just an example, okay, but you have this totally crap product that you are promoting that you have no confidence in, it has low conversions and even lower gravity.

Big Customer Base = Higher Chance of Somebody Buying Crappy Product

Except now you have an enormous customer base of tens of thousands of people. Inevitably, because of the amount of traffic that you have, somebody is going to buy this crappy product.

So you are going to make some money off of it, compared to your money machine product with which made no money. Do you see the difference? Traffic is the determining factor, not the product itself!

With A Lot of Traffic, You Have Business Regardless of The Quality Of Your Product

Obviously, the product is hugely important and this is just the extreme example. But it shows the importance of traffic generation to the success of your business.

Without traffic, you have no business. With a lot of traffic, you have business regardless of the quality of your product.

With Affiliate Marketing, What Does Traffic Mean?.

Now, with a brick and mortar business, the concept of traffic is easy to understand. It's … well … traffic. It's people in cars driving to your store or customers walking into your showroom.

But with affiliate marketing, what does traffic mean? Basically, it means getting your product in front of as many prospective customers as possible so that you can drive the maximum number of motivated buyers through your affiliate link.

How To Drive Traffic To Your Affiliate Link?

So how do you drive traffic through your link?

There are all kinds of ways to do that and we are going to be looking at them in some detail in the next section.

But generally they include such things as promoting your products to your subscription list and your social media contacts, creating your own websites that promote your products, buying ads on Facebook, Google and other places that link back to the affiliate link, and so on.

Traffic Should Be Given More Importance Than Products Promoted.

Okay, so hopefully you understand the importance of traffic. In many ways, it's more important even than the products you promote.
