You know what is the worst thing that can happen when working on the Net? That people quit before they even really get started! That people don’t give themselves a fair chance to realize their own potential!

Maybe it’s because people expect way too much from the Internet way too early. How many ‘overnight’ successes can you count?

Probably none…and that’s because most of those ‘overnight’ success stories took time to happen.

A good question to ask is: why are we all in such a hurry that any sense of patience seems ridiculous?

I think I can answer that one. We’ve been programmed to believe that everything should happen instantaneously. We ignore the fact that Rome wasn’t built in a day. We refuse to buy-in to the truth that most successes are built on blood, sweat and some occasional tears.

We want it all RIGHT NOW and somehow think we are entitled to it. Let me gives you some names to consider: Ford, Rockefeller, Kennedy, Trump. Do you think they started off with everything? Do you truly believe that somebody didn’t have to pay some dues before they got to where they were?

Do you really think they didn’t have some dark days, bitter disappointments, etc., before the sun came shining through? Somebody had to start somewhere and BUILD UP!

Well, my friends, somebody did decide to build up. They didn’t cave in because of a minor set-back. They forged ahead – just as anyone on the path to success does. They took the lemons and turned them into lemonade!

If you came to the Internet expecting instant riches you did yourself a grave disservice. Just like anything else worth working for, you have to give it the time and the effort and the patience to make it your own. On the Internet, it’s business as usual – just as it is in the brick and mortar world.

You have to be willing to put in the labor that produces success. Sometimes, you also have to spend a few dollars. But mostly, you have to believe in what you do and believe it’ll pay you back. The second worst mistake you can ever make is coming aboard the Internet believing you can coast because there are so many millions of others wanting and needing what you offer.

The competition is thick and it is solid and is more than willing to show people how wrong you are and how better they are. The Internet has made A LOT of money for A LOT of people and you CAN be one of them. But for the vast majority of people it is a work-in-progress.

Don’t be fooled or disappointed if it doesn’t happen overnight. Very few things in life that happen overnight LAST! Hang in there, go with the ebbs & flows and make your success something that not only happens but continues on into the millennium! It happens.

The underlying theme of this message is Free vs. Paid. EVERYBODY with an Internet connection eventually signs up for something FREE. It could be a contest for a cruise, or it may be a program that promises that you will earn lots of money in a short time frame.

Hopefully, you are starting to learn that there is a lot more to Internet Marketing than joining FREE programs and listening to promises of running to the bank, to cash checks.

Ask anyone, anywhere, with a GOOD income, what THEY PAID to start their own business. I bet NONE of them will say it was FREE! Ask those SAME people how great it is to be your own boss and set your own hours, and you will get SILLY looks, I bet. It takes LONG hours and you could be the worst boss you ever had! Forget the Moonlight and Magnolias for quite a while. Concentrate on blood, sweat and some tears.

The Internet has opened up a whole New World of marketing products. We can sell our products to people in South Africa, just as fast as to someone in Italy or even someone in our own city. What NEVER changes are the Basic Foundations of selling ANY product.

* Your product MUST BE needed or wanted. (Demand)

* You NEED to make that product available. (Supply)

* You must BE honest and fair with everyone. (Customer Service)

Of course there are ALWAYS a million details to attend to, but these things are the basics. These are BASIC things that you can not leave out. SURE, if you decide to work as an affiliate and sell someone else’s products, you may be able to cut your costs considerably. BUT….how much will YOU EARN?

Even a FREE affiliate program can have a high cost in TIME and Advertising fees. Some require an upgrade to paid status before you can BEGIN to earn any commissions.

FREE IS NOT always the best and actually, it is seldom really free. You can spend so much time and cash on a free business, that you won’t ever make enough money to pay yourself more than the minimum wage.

QUITE OFTEN people give up in frustration, because everyone that JOINS them is ALSO FREE and NO money is generated by FREE members. There is NO question about it…

FREE isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!

YOU really have to WANT to take control over your own BUSINESS situation. You MUST be DEDICATED to building a real business of your own. You have to be WILLING to make the necessary sacrifices NOW to MAKE MONEY in the future.

It’s FOOLISH to think that a few bucks a month is too high of a price to pay to have the Tools, Training & Products to jump start your own business, but MANY people feel that way. The SAME Internet that opens up a Whole World to us, SCREAMS at us from every direction – FREE!

What’s really great about YouTube, is that it’s completely free. There are many services that require you to pay to get more traffic to your site. Posting a video at YouTube means instant exposure. You can create and post a video in 24 hours or less, and for your efforts, gain instant exposure to the millions of people who visit YouTube each and every day. This is the kind of exposure many companies spend a lot of money trying to get. But, using YouTube, you can get it without spending a dime.

Of course, you will get the most out of YouTube if your learn how to use it the right way. Say you have goods or services to promote. Well, you can create a sort of infomercial that explains what you are offering, or shows people how it works. And you can end up making a bit of money from this kind of video. But you can make more by taking a different approach.

By giving them that information, you create a feeling of trust in them. You gave them something of value for free. They can just imagine the valuable information or service you will give to them, if they pay you a few dollars.

Learning how to use YouTube for marketing can go a long way towards getting your business notices, and increasing your profits.
