Link Building the Right Way

Most people believe that building links for your website, is a simple matter of finding places to link to your site, and quickly. If you wanted to, you could in fact purchase links directly from thousands of websites at a time. Not a good idea, by the way, but you could do it. Google has filters that actually notice how many sites are linking to yours. Add too many links at once, and Google just may filter your site out.
So how many links per day is a good number to shoot for? Who knows, certainly somebody must, but one thing is for sure; consistent link building is the key to making it work for you. Adding 10 links per day for months on end probably won’t set off red flags, but one a day for a month, then 25 a day for a week just might. If only it were as simple as simple moderation and patience. The kinds of links you get also make a difference in their effectiveness. You can get site-wide links, which sort of stay in a sidebar on the site and never really capture the attention of anybody who is reading the text. These are usually pretty cheap. The links you want are in-text links. People read websites for content, not advertising, so putting advertising in the content virtually guarantees that they’ll see it. The most important thing to realize about link building for a successful website, is that you have got to be patient. It can take more than a year before you actually get a website going. Too many people will create a site, love it, foster it, do everything right, and sell it after six months, because it’s just not producing for them. Stick it out for the long haul, if you want to make a site work for you….there really is no other way. That’s it, consistency, patience, and making good choices. Those three things are the keys to success in building websites. It’s more than building something that gets past Google’s filters; it’s almost an art. It takes practice, the methodology is subjective, and anyone can do something that’s at least half decent.
