How To Get Free Website Traffic
|
One thing to remember is that traffic building takes time. To many webmasters give up when they don’t see instant traffic. Some methods take longer than others, and patience is needed. The results in the long term however, are rewarding. The first method to use when considering traffic for any website, should be search engine optimization. This is the way that the search engines find the site, and without it your site may as well not exist, as no-one will know it’s there. There are many books, tutorials etc., available on SEO (search engine optimization) and many people think it’s complicated and time consuming. It can be if you wish to reach the #1 position on the search engines, through SEO alone. However, many sites survive and prosper very well, with more basic SEO, combined with other traffic obtaining methods. You should be optimizing a site which has original, fresh, keyword rich content, which is updated and added to on a regular basis. This is what the search engines are looking for. Adding articles a couple of times a week, and/or running a blog on the site, contributing to it, and possibly getting others to add their comments as well, either daily or every other day, are all good methods of keeping your site fresh and updated. Writing articles for submission to lots of Article Directories and including links within the resource box, back to the home page and sometimes to other pages within your site, all generate backlinks which in time help to build visitors and backlinks, which the search engines like and help increase the ranking of the website. Sites such as EzineArticles, HubPages and Squidoo etc., are all high ranking sites, so the backlinks from these are good for creating immediate direct traffic, as well as boosting your standing/ranking with search engines. Be sure to do your keyword research correctly for inclusion in your articles. Another great and quick way to increase backlinks, is by using RSS software. This submits your site’s content quickly and easily to RSS Directories, again increasing backlinks considerably. Social bookmarking may not directly do much to increase your site’s SEO, but these sites are spidered extremely regularly by the search engines. Having your site linked to them means that the search engines follow that link back to your website, and your site can get indexed by the search engines very quickly, sometimes within 24 hours. Well worth doing. Using these marketing strategies will ensure that your website begins to receive the lifeblood it needs to expand into a successful business. Of course there are many other traffic building techniques, both free and paid, which you can add into your marketing strategy, but these will build a good foundation for your success.
