Get Laser Targeted Traffic Using Squidoo!

Well I did have different plans for getting traffic to my blog on Day 1. I was going to use one of the tactics that Alex Jeffreys taught me and his other students in Module 4.

However thanks to a comment made by one of my fellow students, Mark Austin, I am going to do something different.

Mark was telling me how he was getting traffic and mentioned that he had setup a “Squidoo Lens” and was getting quite a lot of traffic from it.

This reminded me that I purchased a series of training videos several months ago called “Squidoo Secrets’. I did start to go through the training classes, but if you have read any of my previous posts, you’ll know this Social Networking is something that I have struggled to get my head around.

I have realized the importance of using web 2.0 and now web3.0…but I just kept putting it off. It’s only in the last month that I have finally told myself, that if I DON’T learn this AND start to implement what I am being taught…I am going to get left behind, because the OLD ways of marketing online just don’t get the same results as they used to.

To be honest, there is absolutely NO WAY that I shouldn’t be able to learn this stuff…I am going through TWO intensive training classes at the moment, one by Craig Garcia and the other by Alex Jeffreys.

NOW…thanks to a reminder from Mark, ( I would prefer to call it a “kick up the butt” ) “Squidoo Secrets” makes it THREE!

    Hi Bill,

The Squidoo Lens work. I tried it and it does draw in tons of traffic. Google loves it a lot too. :)

And in my experience you still need to interact in the other social networking tools like oil rig strategy, tagging and using Twitter, to name a few.

It’s really about putting enough of yourself out there to create a presence.

If anybody has a question or something to share, you’re invited to leave a comment on my blog or send me a tweet on Twitter. :)

    All the best!

    Hi Erwin,

Thanks for stooping by and leaving your feedback:)

Yes, I do realize that Squidoo can be a great source of free traffic, just like the other forms of Social Marketing. I have realized that for a few years now, but I could never get my head around it, even though I have been marketing successfully online for 8 years.

That’s about to change and I am determined to learn all about 2.0 and 3.0 as quickly as I can. Thanks to Alex Jeffreys Marketing Course and another “Social Networking” course I am taking, I can’t see it been a barrier in the future.

I have added you to my “Students Of Alex Jeffreys” list and will be making a stop by YOUR blog very shortly

    Bill:)

    Hi Bill,

To add html to your sidebar you need to be using widgets. Just put the html code inside of a text widget to have it appear in the sidebar.

    Hope this helps :)

    Hi Kevin

    Thanks for your comments:)

Yes I agree about Squidoo, it’s a great way to get free traffic. I purchased the the Squidoo Secrets course months ago and forgot all about it. It wasn’t until Mark Austin, another student of Alex’s, mentioned his Squidoo Lens to me, that I remembered that I had it. After Christmas I have to get stuck in and get a few lenses set up.

Social Marketing really is the way to go these days. Not only is it responsive, but it’s free;)

Kevin thanks for adding me to your Blogroll…I have added you to mine and I will be stopping by your Blog very shortly.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.

    Hi Mark

Thanks for the offer of the help with my Blog. I managed to get the the problem of adding the html to the side bar sorted out…thanks to Dave Everett, another Student of Alex’s.

All I need to do now is find a good theme. I like this one, but the text “size” in the header is huge and does not allow me to add much text and I don’t know how to reduce the font size. If you have any suggestions their, let me know.

    Bill:)
