<p>The best thing that you can do when you make a mistake, is to <strong>ask for forgiveness</strong>. First of all, it makes you feel better. Secondly it&#8217;s the right thing to do, and lastly, your list members will appreciate the acknowledgment. There&#8217;s another reason, one that you&#8217;ve heard before:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>&quot;It&#8217;s better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.&quot;</strong>
      </p>
<p>Okay, this can be a little bit controversial, but let&#8217;s imagine that you&#8217;ve been given a really good offer for your subscribers, that fits your niche perfectly, but you&#8217;ve already sent out your weekly message to your members already. The offer has a very short time limit, meaning if your subscribers will miss out on the deal, if you don&#8217;t let them know about it&#8230; NOW!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>What do you do?</strong> If you send out an announcement about this special offer, you&#8217;ve broken a promise to your subscribers, because you told them you would only send out things like this, once a week?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Well, just do it, and in your sales copy apologies for doing it. This is something you should do very rarely&#8230; because if you use this method too often, your subscribers will stop trusting you.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Save this for very, very special offers that are once in a lifetime and not to be missed. Tell your members up front what you&#8217;re doing, and that you&#8217;re sorry, and that they can delete right now if they don&#8217;t want to read on.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Tell them these <strong>&#8216;once in a lifetime opportunities&#8217;</strong> are far and few between, and you hate the thought of them missing out, so from time to time. they will receive the odd &#8216;extra&#8217; mailing from you.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Sometimes real mistakes happen though, a list server goes nuts, sends out emails that it wasn&#8217;t supposed to. Your site gets attacked by a virus, or worse, your members are sent a virus via a hacker through your list. Sometimes you recommend a product you really believed in, only to find out it wasn&#8217;t as good as you thought.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>All these things can and do happen. The best thing that you can do is own up to it, apologize, and explain how you will work to prevent such things in the future. Your members will realize that you are just human, and being forgiving as most people are, they will move on.</p>

<p><strong>Client</strong> &#8212; The prospect buys merchandise or information via a link on your site or via one of the new subscriber newsletters, or one of the emails that you send out to your prospects regularly.</p>

<p>Once the prospect makes a purchase<u> the autoresponder software automatically moves the P to the C list,</u> which is the client list. Once your prospect is a client then you know to market to them completely different from how you would had they not made a purchase.</p>

<p>Your emails to clients will focus on pulling them into the next step in your product funnel, depending upon what they bought.</p>

<p>The important thing to remember to make segmentation really work, is to <u>make sure you market to these groups based on who the group is, and do not be generic in your focus.</u></p>

<p>Prospects are very different from clients, and they should know that you know, they are different when you are marketing to them.</p>

<p>You can segment your subscribers in many ways, and you should. It&#8217;s not hard to do, because your autoresponder software can do it for you. All you have to do is set this scenario up right away, at the time that you create your first list or your first product.</p>

<p>It is very important not to put this off, because<strong> segmenting your list will actually result in more sales </strong>further down your product funnel, thus enabling you to earn more money while working less.</p>

<p class="style1">Also, resist the urge to hammer your list with promotional emails every single day. The valuable &quot;free info&quot; emails you send should outnumber the purely promotional messages, otherwise, your subscribers will opt out in droves.</p>

<p class="style1"><strong>Rule #2 &#8211; Get PERSONAL with your subscribers&#8230;<span id="more-2130"></span></strong></p>

<p class="style1">People want to deal with PEOPLE, not faceless companies. So you DON&rsquo;T want your emails to come off sounding like they&rsquo;re official, corporate sounding announcements.</p>

<p class="style1">In order to connect with your subscribers,<u> your emails should be written in a casual, conversational tone.</u> Write like you&rsquo;re talking to a good friend. Let your personality shine through.</p>

<p class="style1">If you&rsquo;re a funny person, <strong>use humor in your emails.</strong> (Without being offensive, obviously.) If you speak with an accent, let that accent shine through in your writing. Include whatever characteristics make you&#8230;YOU!</p>

<p class="style1">It will help your subscribers feel like they know you&#8230;And that will go a long way to encouraging them to buy something from you!</p>

<p class="style1">Finally, in order to hammer home the point that your emails are coming from an actual person &mdash; as opposed to an organization &mdash; make sure the return address on all your emails has your name in it i.e. yourname@yourbusiness.com</p>

<p class="style1"><strong>Rule #3 &#8211; Give First, Get Second&#8230;</strong></p>

<p class="style1"><u>This is truly one of the cardinal rules of email marketing:</u></p>

<p class="style1"><strong>In order to &quot;get,&quot; first you have to GIVE</strong>. Never ask your subscribers to make a purchase unless you have offered them something of value beforehand.</p>
<p class="style1">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="style1">For example, if you&rsquo;re gearing up for a major promotion, it&rsquo;s a good idea to send out a few &quot;no strings attached&quot; emails full of useful information and THEN follow them up with an email that includes a call to action.</p>
<p class="style1">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="style1">The same thing is true of your newsletters. If you want to promote any of your products, <u>make sure you include lots of free valuable information in the newsletter, BEFORE you get to the product &quot;plug.&quot;</u></p>
<p class="style1">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="style1">That way, people won&rsquo;t mind so much if you ask them to buy something. After all, you&rsquo;ve just given them a whole lot of useful content for free!</p>
<p class="style1">&nbsp;</p>
<p class="style1">Plus, if your content really is valuable, it&rsquo;ll convince your readers that your product or service is valuable, too.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Article Marketing</strong> &#8211; Start writing articles and submitting them to the article directories, especially Ezine Articles. Don&#8217;t forget to add your keywords in the title and the article without &quot;stuffing&quot; it. Make sure your bio is attention-grabbing and has a call to action.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Tip</strong> &#8211; <u>Keep track of where your articles go by using Google Alerts</u>. If you see they are being published routinely on a well-ranked blog, ask the site owner if they would like to have you send your articles directly to their inbox whenever you write one.<span id="more-2089"></span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Blog Posting </strong>- Write and post, write and post, and include your keywords for SEO purposes. It may be hard to do this routinely, but you will reap the rewards if you do. Blogging is a great platform for affiliate marketing because you can do product reviews as well as quality posts, that help establish a relationship of trust and brand you as an expert.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Twitter</strong> &#8211; Every time you send an article to EZA they can tweet the title and a link to it. Ditto with sending an autoresponder email through AWeber, or adding a picture to TwitPic. If you build up your targeted followers, Twitter is a very beneficial free traffic resource.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Yahoo Answers</strong> &#8211; This is a great way to not only get traffic, but you can strut your stuff as an expert. Simply find questions in your area of expertise and give value-packed answers. Add your link as the reference material.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Guest Blogging</strong> &#8211; If you can write an interesting and value-filled post, then consider offering your services to some high-ranking blogs, in exchange for being able to add your site link to your post. Again, this won&#8217;t cost you any money and can bring lots of people to your site.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Tip</strong> &#8211; Don&#8217;t try this with the Gurus, unless you already know them personally. Ask marketers you&#8217;ve established relationships with, and know that summer is when they&#8217;re most willing, and in fact eager, to have a guest blogger post for them.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Forums</strong> &#8211; Search for forums in your niche and join the ones with the most traffic. Answer questions, give feedback and become useful in these forums. Be sure to add your link in your signature line, if they allow it. People will build a relationship with you, see that you know what you&#8217;re talking about, and visit your site.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important with any of these resources to be legitimate and not spam people. Before you jump into a new arena, read the rules! Then take a look around and get a feel for what is acceptable (the unwritten rules.) If you come across as too pushy or spammy, you&#8217;ve done yourself much more harm than good.</p>

The list is long, but the most important methods are email marketing, writing articles to e-groups, joining online discussions etc. Let us discuss some important methods that can be used to promote your affiliate products without having your own website.</p>

<p><strong>Email Marketing: </strong>In this method you can promote your affiliate links and you don&rsquo;t need your own website. People can click on your affiliate links that are in your emails, and can go directly to the merchant website to purchase the products.</p>

<p>Your email should contain the introduction about the product you are promoting and your affiliate links. Try to make your emails interesting and brief.</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">There are many uses for an autoresponder. One such use is the publishing and distribution of an ezine or newsletter. Since autoresponder services are usually set up to send automatic responses to the people on the list, at certain intervals after they sign up, setting up an autoresponder to send out an ezine can be a little confusing.</p>
<p align="left" class="style1">&nbsp;</p>
<p align="left" class="style1">Depending on the service or autoresponder that you are using, you will need a &lsquo;broadcast&rsquo; feature. The broadcast feature works essentially the same as the autoresponse feature, with one big difference. The messages are NOT sent out at intervals.</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">The messages can, however, be scheduled to go out on a certain day, which has no bearing on when the subscriber was actually added to the mailing list. Broadcast messages are &lsquo;one time&rsquo; messages that are only sent to your current mailing list. People who sign up for your list after the broadcast has been sent, do not receive it, unless they specifically request it with an autoresponder address, which you must set up.</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">Using the broadcast feature of most autoresponder services, you can simply go and either type your newsletter, or copy and paste it into the editor, then choose to send the broadcast to your entire mailing list. More advanced autoresponder services will usually have broadcasting features.</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">Using an autoresponder to maintain a mailing list and to distribute a newsletter, is a wonderful idea. Your subscribers can easily opt-in, or opt-out, and all of the distribution is handled for you, based on the schedule that you set.</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">List maintenance can become very difficult without the automation that autoresponders provide. You can write each issue of your ezine or newsletter well in advance, and have it delivered to your mailing list, no matter where you are or what you are doing. That is the beauty of automation!</p>

<p align="left" class="style1">Since all past broadcast and autoresponse messages are saved, you can easily refer back to old issues, or allow people to request past issues. You can also use the tracking feature throughout each issue of the newsletter to determine how many clicks you are getting for the various products, or websites that you promote in your ezine.</p>
