Did you ever see the 1989 Movie ‘Field Of Dreams’ with Kevin Costner? The movie was based on an Iowa farmer, Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) who hears a voice in his corn field saying "If you build it, he will come." He interprets this message as an instruction to build a baseball field on his farm, upon which appear the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson and the other seven Chicago White Sox players banned from the game for throwing the 1919 World Series. If you did see the movie, you will know that Ray DID ‘Build’ it and they DID ‘Come’ The sad thing is, that to many online marketers must have watched the movie, because they also believe, that if they build it people will come. They are not talking about a baseball field either! They think if they put up a fancy looking website with a few paragraphs of text and a few flashy banners…..people will come. Well, I have some bad news for those people… Unless you tell people that you HAVE ‘Built’ it …they most DEFINITLEY will NOT come! Sorry, but those days are over.
