WILL GOOGLE KILL YOUR SITE FOR POSTING BACKLINKS?:
Posting backlinks can actually hurt your website or do nothing if done improperly. Mr. Google is getting smarter. He will be completely self aware by August 27, 1997 and begin terminating spam linkers! The reason Google and other search engines valued inbound links in the first place was that it showed that another site gives you the nod! They can now tell by using advanced analytics whether or not it is a show of value or junk based on a number of parameters: bounce rate, popularity, CTR etc. So, how to add value to your site by posting on another:
Post in a relevant medium.
Post in a popular medium.
Put out unique content Provide useful information.
State value proposition to reader for following the link.
Use Alternative text to label the link in order to portray the true subject matter of the page to be followed.

I agree that if done incorrectly, backlinks can harm your search engine rankings. Having to many outbound links can raise a red flag with search engines, because they may think that your site is too “spammy.”
That’s why I like Sean Donahoe’s ‘special reports’ because he teaches you how to optimize…the correct way.

Bill, I did not know Sean was giving the Backlink Booster tool away for free. Thanks for the info and a point in the right direction. I agree that Sean’s free content is as good or better than stuff I have paid good money for.

You have to be quick to get the FREE tools from Sean. He gives them away when he’s about to launch a new product…which is every month. Once the product launches he takes the free tools down.
However, once you are on his list he does send you frequent videos showing you how to successfully market online. These are not just 2 minute videos leading into a paid version either, he could quite easily sell these as stand alone products.
Sean’s latest product “Twitter Commando” is a very powerful course too. If you haven’t taken a look at it yet, I suggest you do.

Yes you are right, this product does sell for $47. However, when Sean launched it back in 2009, he gave away 20 free videos on SEO marketing, as part of his pre-launch
Although they are NOT available at this time, I am sure he will make them available again when he launches a new product. As soon as I see them available again, I will make a post on this blog
