9 Tips For Posting On A Blog!

Wherever you go on the internet these days, you will run into a blog! There are literally millions of them, they have become a "must have" item online.

But what is a blog? Well, they started out as a personal diary, a place to post your thoughtsm, feelings or ideas, but online and open for the public to read. Very quickly they evolved and are now used for both personal and business purposes, and on just about any and every topic.

They can be a very useful tool to boost your business, and to keep customers updated on the products and information you have. You do not need to be a great writer to use a blog, people like the personal approach, so writing does not have to be professional, personal and friendly is fine. What you do need, however, are useful subjects you can write about to keep your readers/customers coming back to your site.

So here are nine suggestions for topics you could write about:

1. News about your business/company. Write about what your business/company do or sell. Tell them some of the benefits your customers get from your products, with a link back to your main site so they can go back and read the entire sales letter if they wish.

Give information about updates to your products/services. Post news about the industry your business is in. If you, or your product/service has been featured anywhere, on other websites, in newspapers, on tv or radio, write about it. If you have attended seminars or gatherings, tell them about it.

2. Tell your readers about yourself. Tell them how you started your business, the achievements you have made, any awards etc., you have received. You will be letting them know that you are a real person building a reputable business, and why they should buy from you.

If you have employees, give some information about them, showcase the expertise involved in your business and your belief in your staff. If your website has good traffic or site stats, mention that too. It all adds to the reputation and branding you are building online.

3. When you get great feedback from a customer, share it on your blog. When your readers see how your product/service helped them, you are giving your reader a compelling reason to buy from you.

4. Run a weekly or monthly site review. Choose a site which complements your own, not compete with it. Review the site, explaining why you like the site, and why it deserves your praise.

5. Run a survey/questionnaire about your product or service. This is a good way to get feedback about your product, and give you ideas how you could develop it further.

6. Run a contest. Post it in your blog to encourage visitors to join. Include info on the prizes, a overview of the rules, and give a link back to your main site where they can get the full information regarding it.

7. Tip of the day/week. This could be something you have learned and/or perfected, a new tactic you have developed etc.

8. Write a review about a piece of software you use in your business, especially if you are an affiliate for it. Including your affiliate link will bring in additional revenue.

9. Find and give away free useful items which you think your readers will find useful in their business. This can be pieces of software, reports, ebooks etc. But make sure they are good quality, and preferably complement your business.

Whatever your business, with just a little thought, I am sure you will always find something you will want to write about. Try it, it will reward you soon.

    Hi Alan

Thanks for coming back and leaving your comments.

I think the problem with most people, is that they think they have to write a masterpiece, instead of just writing what they are thinking.

I’m not the best writer out their either, but if people did what you are suggesting…visit other blogs, read the comments and make a comment themselves…they would soon start to grasp the idea.

Thanks for following me on Twitter Alan…I am just learning how to do this through a video course. I am now following you too.

    Take Care Alan

    Bill:)
