3 Sweet Words – Tell Me More!

Be quiet. Are you listening to your customer? Really hearing what they say?

Most of us sell because we’re talkers. We have the gift of the gab, even in print. Maybe you WERE Shy but you STILL wanted to work with people? Personality people can do very well in e-sales.

Guess what? These are wrong reasons for working this e-job. Here you have to be interested in other people, not yourself. In all types of sales, we do best when we listen to others, not to ourselves. If we want to put the bacon on the table, we must allow the other people to do the talking. They pay our bills.

e-Sales is a rough business. We’re supposed to have all the answers and "they" have all the questions AND excuses. Let people talk. They usually say something you can move on. Sometimes, they tell you everything, if you’ll let them get a word in; you listen while they talk.

Taking notes definitely keeps us from talking all the time. Even if you do know everything, ask these people….."Is there anything else I should know about?"

Slow down. Use pauses in your presentation. Hey — you can even sell ‘without’ a "real" presentation. Some of the best in our business, sell JUST using well thought out, directional questions.

Can You BITE Your Tongue? Stay Quiet?

Let people buy from you. You might not even have to sell. It’s SO great to hear the 3 sweetest words…. "Tell me more!"

Pop a few directional questions then listen. IF you follow THIS sales approach, you’ll really be helping your customer. Remember that they are probably sick and tired of playing….. "Hook, Line and Sucker Sinker"

Your contacts AND customers ARE your FOOD Ticket. Wouldn’t you say that’s very important?

Become a GREAT listener!

You know how hard it is for a man to listen. We tune things out too easily.

You are right about listening to our readers. How do we know if we are going in the right direction without getting feedback. It is important to always ask for interaction with your readers. You can also create surveys to help ask questions of your readers.

Listening to your readers will also give you ideas for new products to create.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rick

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments. Yes, running a survey is a great way to find out what your readers want to see, and they are not that hard to put together.

    Take care

You really make your presentation look easy, but I think this subject, I think this is I’ll never understand. It seems too complicated for me is very broad. I look forward to your next post, I will try to get to master it!
